The printer works fine off a Mac, but as our oversexed, warty friend mentions, you'll have to use Photoshop's bitmap halftone (or the free EasyArt actions [I think it's EasyArt]) or use Ghostscript. The only version of Ghostscript I've been able to get to work under the Mac OS was under System 9. I've got Windows XP on my Intel MacBook and I run out anything requiring halftones or trapping via Ghostscript/Ghostvieiw for Windows from that. And that works very well, bearing in mind that Ghostscript has a learning curve as far as getting it set up, and can sometimes misbehave, but you can't beat the price – FREE, and it does the job. I don't think that there are any commercial RIPS for HP printers, or for any of the relatively cheap ones most of us buy.
