I recently purchased some screen printing equipment, it came with a makeshift exposure unit, it has a large canister ballast and a large almost football sized bulb. I was not able to track down any info on the net. It states on the grey cover "light=600v" , and says on ballast, "constant wattage ballast patent pending for mercury lamps" which is why I assumed it was a mercury vapor light. No other really useful info on the fixture or ballast. powered it up and it seems pretty bright... Wondering if anyone uses a similar light and new a starting point for exposure testing, or distance I need to be from screen, also do I need to let the lamp fully warm up before exposing ?

Thank you !
